Food Pantry and Clothes Closet

“I feed you. Because the good news to a hungry person is bread.” - Desmond Tutu

With this quote in mind, we began our food pantry in 1994 with two men. They began distributing and delivering food to the community and beyond with donations received from local grocery stores and restaurants.

Since then, we have expanded our food pantry to weekly hours: Fridays (except third Friday of each month); and those same two men (now senior citizens) continue to remain active today.

We have changed our name over the years, but Temple Hills Food Pantry (THFP) as an extension of our transitional housing continues to serve the community. Residents of the community depend on the food pantry so they do not have to make a choice between medicine or food.

The pantry supplies good, healthy food to people struggling with hunger and food insecurity.

Due to COVID-19, we ask that you wear a mask and remain in your vehicle, and a volunteer will gladly place your food in your trunk.

The clothes closet offers gently used men and women's clothes, shoes, coats, and purses. The closet operates during food pantry hours only at this time. We ask everyone to socially distance during COVID-19.
